I am going golfing on the morning of saturday June 7th. This is an open invite if you would like to join me. I am planning on getting a tee time for 7-8ish. And the course is yet to be determined. Please RSVP by email(cstringham@gmail.com) or phone (801.564.9976) by thursday and let me kow a time and place you would like to play. I am open to any suggestions.
Times have been posted for Friday (23rd), Saturday (24th) but sadly not Thursday (22nd) the day that Indiana Jones opens. It looks like they have it on two or three screens with one starting every hour beginning at 1030 am and ending at 1030 pm. These times are only for the theater in Ogden. The other megaplex theatres have them listed for the whole weekend, and some are already sold out. So let’s pick a day and a time and lets go.
This ended up being e-mailed to me by several people. You may have already received it. If you haven’t you will enjoy it or at least sharing it with your children who may enjoy it.
I have spoken with Jeremy Jackson and Elgin Moore. They both seemed excited to go see Indiana Jones next month. Just post the date and time and I will make sure they know about it. I believe Chris Tyler and Casey Stringham would also be interested.
I was wondering if anyone knows who makes the fraternity pins or where I could get some. I was in the American River college chapter in Sacramento, CA and in about 2000 they changed it to the institute mens association and did away with all the ceremonies. it was very sad. now I am a young mens leader in Connecticut and I recently gave a lesson about the armor of God and showed them my frat pin. they all think it’s cool and they want one.
Drew Call one of our fraternity brothers working at the LDS Church Printing Division sent this to me. Drew stated in his e-mail that he had the same feelings about the passing of President Hinckley as does this commentator has done. After watching it I had to agree with Drew that I felt the same way.
OK, This is how I look at things. Getting together as brothers should be like going on a date with a woman. Meaning that, dinner & a movie is not doing much other than sitting there with someone next to you. Going on a real date requires planning something where people are going to interact with one another and have a good time doing it, not just sitting in the dark.
So what I am suggesting is activity like Laser Tag ( Muligan’s just built a new facility ) or Miniture golf, Golf, Paint ball, Going on a hike, Bike ride. Etc. Yes I know that we have to look at the time of year and what is available. But I think that it is something that is more brotherly involoved than just sitting in the dark together, and saying cool I will see you later after the movie is over.
Just my thoughts, and I am not bashing anyones Ideas, just trying to help build on them.
I have high hopes for this new blog. I am with President Kimball in that we need to understand and use the new media tools that we get in order to promote the Lord’s work. I am always trying to keep a low profile due to the element I am in contact with, and I realize now that my friends and family may suffer from that. Thus I am going to be at least more available and approachable through this blog.
Heidi and I are still going strong with our jobs and hobbies. She still works in Ogden and loves doing arts and crafts. Photogography and Star Wars are still large parts of my life as well as processing crime scenes. I am now working days (7:30am to 5:30pm) with Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays as my days off. We are still trying to have kid, but still can’t seem to get the medical factors overcome. We are to apoint where we are considering adoption and other options.
Just to put some ideas into the field there is a new Indiana Jones movie coming (INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL) on May 22. Since we have done major movies as a group before I would love to see us do it again. I will run point if needed. My theatre of choice nowadays is the Megaplex 13 in Ogden, which is right by the temple. It is a digital sound and PROJECTION!! theater and has the advantage of having reserved seats. I know there are some brothers that may have to travel some distance to go there, but there is an advantage to the reserved seats. We (my family) just went to National Treasure Book Of Secrets and took an entire row that we didn’t have to fight for cause we already had it.
I am posting the most recent picture of Heidi and I. Its a few months old and was taken at the blessing of my newest nephew. Take care and guard well the homor of the Crimson Shield.
